School Works
Made for Nigerian schools

You already know how your school runs. Now it runs itself.

Your own website. Your parents kept in the loop. Your records where you can actually find them, and your fees collected without chasing anyone. All of it from one place, on your own address.

Takes about ten minutes. Nothing to install.

What you get

Here's what changes on Monday

Everything the office does by hand today, handled in one place — with your crest on it, your colours, and your name on the front.

A website you'd actually show people

Pick a theme, drop in your photos, and your school has a real site on its own address. Parents apply through it, students check results on it, and you edit it yourself — nobody to ring, nothing to wait for.

Admissions that finish themselves

Parents apply online and check their own status, so your phone stops ringing about it. When you admit someone, the student record, the guardian link, the class and the admission number all appear together.

Results without the retyping

Teachers enter their own scores. You process the class once and it ranks itself, grades itself and locks. What comes out is a report card you'd be happy to sign your name to.

Fees you can stop chasing

Raise the whole term's invoices in one go. Parents pay online into your school's own Paystack account — never ours, the money never touches us — and the receipt lands in their inbox with your crest on it.

Parents who stop calling the office

They get a portal that works on the phone in their hand: results the moment you publish, attendance, what they still owe, every announcement. Most of the questions answer themselves.

Everyone sees their own slice

Form teachers mark their own class. Subject teachers enter only their subjects. You see all of it. Nobody can touch what isn't theirs, and you never have to ask them not to.

On the phone, without an app store

Parents add the portal to their home screen and it opens like any other app — your crest on the icon, your name under it. Results, attendance, what's owed and every announcement, with a notification when something lands. Nothing to download, nothing to update, and it works the same on an old phone.

Your data stays yours

Take a full copy whenever you want it — every record, every photograph, every receipt. Ask us to erase a family's record and it is erased, not hidden. Leave, and we hand it all over and delete our copy.

Not built yet: an office program for Windows that keeps taking admissions and entering scores with the line down. The groundwork for it is in place and it is what we are working on, but it does not exist today and it is not part of what you would be paying for. We would rather say that here than have you find out in September.

Inside

This is the actual thing

Not an artist's impression. These are the screens your office would be working in, the day after you set it up.

Admissions

The form fills your records in for you

Parents apply on your own site and check their own status, so the office phone stops ringing about it. Admitting somebody is one press.

  • Student record, guardian link, class and admission number all appear together
  • Admission numbers follow your school's own format, not ours
  • Creche through SS3, in the wings and arms your school actually uses

Nobody retypes a score, ever

Teachers enter their own. You process the class once and it ranks itself, grades itself and locks. Computer-based tests write into the same cell a teacher would have.

  • WAEC grading already set up, and editable if yours differs
  • Four report card designs, with your crest and your colours
  • Cumulative term progress carried forward without a spreadsheet

Money comes in without anybody chasing it

Raise the whole term's invoices in one press. Parents pay online into your school's own account and get a receipt with your crest on it — you never touch the money.

  • Paystack, into your school's account and not ours
  • Bank transfers and cash recorded by hand, on the same ledger
  • A debtor list you can act on, instead of a notebook
The year, end to end

Your session already has a rhythm

You just do it on paper. Here it is on one screen instead — and the next term starts from where the last one finished, not from a blank page.

September New intake Applications in, admitted in a click, classes filled.
Every morning Register marked Class by class, on the phone, in under a minute.
Mid-term Scores go in CA and exam, entered by whoever taught it.
End of term Results out Processed, ranked, locked, and printed to a card.
July Everyone moves up Promotion reviewed class by class. Next session opens.
Getting started

You'll be running by Friday

Nothing to install, no server to rent, nobody to hire. The class ladder, the subjects and the grading are already set up the way Nigerian schools actually use them.

1

Tell us your name

Pick your address — yourschool.schoolworks.ng — or point a domain you already own straight at it.

2

Make it look like yours

Upload the crest and a photo of the campus, choose a theme, set your colours. The whole thing repaints at once — site, portal, receipts, report cards.

3

Bring your people in

Add staff and students, or import the spreadsheet you already keep. Assign class teachers, then open admissions to the public.

4

Run your term

Mark attendance, enter the scores, publish the results, collect the fees. Then do it again next term — the fee structures carry over, so you're not retyping anything.

Pricing

Pay for the school you have

One price per school, per year — not per student, so a good intake never costs you more. Move up whenever you outgrow it.

The usual way Priced per student, capped

Take on forty more children and the bill goes up in the same term you are paying for the desks. Pass the cap and you are moved to a bigger plan whether you wanted one or not.

Here One price for the school

A good intake costs you nothing extra. The plan sets a generous ceiling so you know when you have genuinely outgrown it — and you move up when you decide to, not when a counter does.

Before you ask

The things schools want to know

If yours is not here, ring us — the number is at the bottom of this page.

Can we see it before we pay anything?

Yes, and without booking a call. Three complete schools are running above — websites open to anyone, and the portals too once you tell us who you are. Published report cards, fees, attendance, all of it. Have a look round before you speak to a person.

What does it cost per student?

Nothing. You pay one price for the school, so a good intake never costs you more in the same term you are paying for the desks. Each plan carries a generous ceiling so you can tell when you have genuinely outgrown it.

Can the report card match the sheet we already use?

That is the usual first question, and yes. You set your own assessment columns and weights, your own grading scale — WAEC is already in there if you want it — and pick from four card designs, printed with your crest and your colours. Class position, cumulative averages and the head's remark are all on it.

How do parents pay, and who holds the money?

Through Paystack, into your school's own account. The money never passes through us. Bank transfers and cash go on the same ledger by hand, so one debtor list covers everything however a parent paid.

What happens when the internet goes down?

The office keeps working. Admissions, attendance and scores can be taken offline and sync when the line comes back — and the rules for what happens if two people changed the same thing are written down rather than guessed at. A published result is never quietly reopened by a laptop that has been offline a fortnight.

Can we use our own domain?

Yes. You start on yourschool.schoolworks.ng the same afternoon, and point your own address at it whenever you are ready. On the top plan the badge comes off entirely and it carries your name only.

If we leave, what happens to our records?

They are yours. Student records export on request, and every school's data is backed up nightly and kept separate from every other school's. There is no lock-in beyond the term you have paid for.
